Let's breathe
You spend around a third of your life asleep, but have you ever thought about how you're breathing while you're there? Snoring isn't just an annoying noise that keeps your partner awake. It can be a sign that your breathing habits aren't working as well as they could, particularly during sleep. In fact, this disturbing noise is a red flag and something we want to eliminate before it turns into something more sinister (i.e. sleep apnoea). In this course, you'll learn how your daytime breathing habits may be contributing to snoring. You'll explore why shutting your mouth at night is critical, the relationship between breathing volume and CO₂, and what happens to your airway when you sleep and turbulence kicks in. You'll also practice simple techniques based on the Buteyko Breathing Method, including nose-unblocking, Many Small Breath Holds, Breathing Slow and Breathing Light. And we'll finish with your Stop Snoring Plan, giving you practical steps to take into your everyday life and your nights. Less noise. Better breathing. Better sleep. And hopefully, keeping your partner happy too. Maybe you even end up back in the same room.
